[Late Post]

Hi all,

Due to exams, I have been busy and not able to post my experience when I went to Open Day in Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

Anyways, the Open Day in Indian Institute of Science🧪 was awesome. 🤩I totally loved it! Here’s a quick list about what I did!

·        I went to the Senior Section in which I learnt many things about the brain🧠 and how it works! I also saw different types of germs🦠. I also saw a couple more experiments, but my personal favourite was learning about the brain and its parts. Students of IISc were so kind on explaining to kids as well!

·        Then, I went to the Computer Department where I saw a super computer🖥! I saw India’s first1️⃣ super computer, “PARAM 8000”. Woah, it was mind-blowing! I also saw evolution of computers from old to new ones🖥. I also saw storage devices such as floppy disks💾, CDs💿 and DVDs📀!

·        I went to see the Junior Section👧🏻👦🏻 to see many cool😎 experiments!

·        First, I saw this amazing experiment called ‘Invisible Ink’. It was about writing a messageon a piece of paper with turmeric water 💦 and letting it dry for a few minutes. Initially, the message will not be visible. When we spray Colin liquid cleaner, then the message appears. This happens because there is a chemical called ammonia in the liquid cleaner and it acts against turmeric, thus making it to appear!

·        I also saw Newton’s colour wheel🔴🟡, which was just like a normal colour

wheel. When it is spun fast, our eyes can’t see the colours because your eyes cannot keep up with the rapid rate at which the colours are spinning! So, it turns into white⚪.

·        I saw a couple more experiments such as ‘Instant Liquid Ice cream’🍦🍨 and ‘Lava Lamp’.  My personal favourite in the Junior Section was ‘’Invisible Ink’ 🖋!

I had an amazing 🤩 day and learning science🧪👩🏻🔬 was very fun🎈 too!

Thank you IISc!
