One Year Later - 2025

Hi everyone, as you all know 2025 is almost over, and we're now closer to 2050 than 2000 (that's a cool fact if you didn't know!) . I just want to take a moment to give everyone a recap of my year. So here it is!

For people who may not know, there was a really big change in my life this year. I left India at 13 in April 2025 with my family, and moved to the US. At first, I was super homesick and I missed everything that I had in India - my friends, my family and my school. It was hard for me, but I believed that change is better and that's what kept me going.

I have been in the US for almost 9 months, and I really like it! Everything's just so calm and nice here - the people, the culture, the surroundings etc.

Bangalore, India was an awesome and fast-moving city, but I felt like I had to run to keep up with its pace. Moving here made me realize that you don't have to chase after a thing all the time; sometimes, you need a breather.

My schooling here's been really great too!

I also went to a ton of chess tournaments, and won a couple prizes. Chess has been a big part of my life and I would love to continue playing it!

I celebrated my fourteenth birthday in the US, and it was super cool. It was on a Wednesday, so there was school, but it was a blast. My dad got me a new camera, and I've been experimenting with it since. I've decided that I like photography, and I have been snapping pictures and recording random videos. Here are some pictures that I took with my camera when I went to a farmers market in Worthington, Ohio.

I also watched the parade on July 4th in Dublin, Ohio, and it was AMAZING! I saw loads of cool floats, and also got a lot of candy.

There was a decent amount of snow this year, and I thought playing in the snow was a good idea. But the temperature was a lot lower than I expected, and I ended up going back inside. But, on the bright side, I got to see and touch snow!

Overall, my days in the US have been great so far, and I would love to explore this country! I do miss India sometimes, but as they say, change is better.

Hopefully, I'll get started on the new year resolutions for 2026, and stay safe and happy new year!
